ESSEN MS 916 – AWS E 9016 -B3
Special low-alloy electrode, developed for welding heat-resistant steel and structural steels with the same composition. The electrode provides excellent deposition, a stable electric arc, and easy slag removal. It exhibits good mechanical and physical properties, especially enhanced by the addition of chromium, which refines the grain size of the steels, increasing strength, and molybdenum, which promotes durability, resistance to high temperatures, and control of grain growth temperature.
austenite improves the penetration of tempering into steel.
